Kiv Bui is a freelance illustrator, currently studying abroad in California, United States. As an illustrator, her work covers storyboarding, fabric designing, and concept, background developer.
Art came to her when she was a victim of bullying back during her high school years. That unfortunate event did not have a negative impact on her creativity. Instead, Kiv's most significant interest is to seek positivity in a negative story. She interested in helping the viewer see hope and happiness in her creations. An example of her current work is Omamori, The Protectors, a series in which she creates characters and stories that give viewers good fortunes.
Her art concepts are mainly inspired by old Japanese cultural folklore, Yukio-e, food, clothing, and Western spiritual folklore. She creates artworks using multi-different traditional and digital mediums. Among all the progress of illustrating, she found lining, concept designing, and environments developing are her most joyful processes.
When she has free time, she enjoys sketching to practice with what she lacks off while watching anime show.
